Watercolor Lesson 3 – Ink Pads

By | May 25, 2017

Lesson 3 utilizes our ink pads as a source of watercolor.  Ink pads and a water brush as the tool to transfer the ink to paper.  You touch the tip of the water bush against the corner of the pad to pick up ink and then apply it to the paper.  I used mixed media paper so it would be easier to fussy cut (hello blisters from the other day).  Mixed media paper takes the water without that sort of pilling that happens when card stock is saturated with water.  We used two shades of a color; painted each balloon the light color and shaded each with the darker color.  I like how it turned out.

My homework:

As it happens the fox comes from a stamp set called Foxy Friends and is available in the new catalog as it is today.   The balloons are in Balloon Celebration and it has a coordinating punch for the balloons.  The word is a sneak peek of the Lovely Words Thinlets, coming in only 5 days in the new catty!!

Thanks for stopping by – Please leave a comment – When I lived in NYC we had a mayor who always asked: “How’m I doing?”  Let me know.

Moving on to Lesson 4.  I haven’t looked at it yet.  We’ll see tomorrow!
